The electorate of Murrumbidgee is situated on the traditional lands of the Ngunnawal people and roughly translated it means 'big water' in the Wiradjuri language. The name is taken from the Murrumbidgee River, which flows directly through the electorate.

Murrumbidgee is one of 5 multi-member electorates in the ACT and is host to some of the most beautiful landscapes, distinct wildlife and diverse people in Canberra. It's home to city's main mountain bike park, has the best access to nature and a fantastic shopping and market scene. Overall, its a great place to live!

The electorate of Murrumbidgee encompasses:

Woden Valley: Chifley, Curtin, Farrer, Garran, Hughes, Isaacs, Lyons, Mawson, O'Malley, Pearce, Phillip, Torrens.

Weston Creek: Chapman, Duffy, Fisher, Holder, Rivett, Stirling, Waramanga, Weston.

Molonglo Valley: Coombs, Denman Prospect, Whitlam, Wright.
