A motion was moved in the ACT Legislative Assembly in response to the delay announced for the first parcels of land in the Molonglo Group centre.

Whilst residents of Molonglo Valley and Weston Creek are disappointed by the delay - and I share that disappointment - we want to get this right. Changes to some of the planning work and community consultation that needs to be done has occurred. What this means is that refinement - and therefore time - is needed for further strategic planning and consultation.

"The Molonglo Valley community has stated the need for strong placemaking outcomes... and the ACT Government has agreed that this is an important principle for the Group Centre..."
