Organ Donation in the ACT
20 April 2021
Organ donation is an incredibly powerful way to help people in our community. One organ donor can help up to 50 other people, and that is excluding the flow-on effects received by their family and loved ones.
Hundreds of people die each year due to curable illness because they can't get the medical treatment they need due to a lack of donated organs. To be an organ donor is an incredibly personal choice, and I respect the decision not to register as a donor.
However, for Canberrans who are not opposed to being a donor, you need to opt-in by registering here! A minute of your time can save lives.
"In the ACT only 25% of people are registered organ donors,
as opposed to the national average of 34%."
