I moved a motion in the Assembly calling on the government to explore opportunities to convey sun-smart messaging for parents and carers, as well as children in playgrounds.

This year I was approached by some members of our community that were concerned by the lack of sun-smart messaging for parents. They had noticed in the playground that all the kids were wearing hats, but surprisingly, none of the parents were.

After conversations will the Cancer Council, I believed it was incredibly important to bring this issue to the attention of the Government and the Assembly.
