In response to the recent Roe vs Wade decision in the United States, the ACT is reviewing and considering our position in relation to abortion rights affecting Canberrans. The Legislative Assembly's Standing Committee on Health and Community Wellbeing is holding an Inquiry into abortion and reproductive choice in the ACT.

The Minister for Women, Ms Yvette Berry, tabled a Motion in the ACT's Legislative Assembly about this matter today. 

I believe abortion to be a basic human right and gave a speech to this effect in the Legislative Assembly in response to the Minister's statement.
